Self Weight of the Structure

As mentioned in the structural properties, the specific weight of bamboo was considered to be 722 kg/m3.

Dead Loads due to Telecommunication equipment

Generally 2 types of Antennas are used for mobile network coverage. A parabolic microwave (MW) antenna and the panel type Global system for mobile (GSM) antennas. One MW antenna and four GSM are the usual configuration. The load for these antennas was considered as 15 kg and 22 kg respectively. Dead Loads for the telecommunication equipment were added as point loads at the points where they will be attached.

Live Load

Live Loads were applied at the top of the structure as per Table 2 from IS 875 part 2. An accessible flat platform at the top of structure which might be used for maintenance and repair was considered to mimic the Live Loads that the structure might be subjected to.

Wind Load

Wind Load is applied as per IS 802: (Part 1/Sec1) Use of Structural Steel in Overhead Transmission Line Towers — Code of Practice.

The location of the tower is currently taken as Mumbai, as one of the prototypes of the tower will be constructed in Mumbai.
